Mikstape started out a few years ago with the most basic of designs, but with their own proprietary fit. Their t-shirts were longer and skinnier than the regular fit, and with in-your-face designs, the lucky few who knew how to get a hold of these treasures got all the attention they could wish for.
After a few years, some heavy promotion from the international snowboard community, as well as the support of some well known break dancers, Mikstape finally started shipping larger quantities of their tight clothing line. Word on the street is that a large American clothing manufacturer got wind of their proprietary fit and tried to buy the measurements off them. Unfortunately, the brands proud founder "Nix" Gyllenhammer rejected the lucrative offer. Or so the streets say.
As I have been following the brand expand and become what it is today, I have nothing but an incredible respect for the creativity, marketing efforts, brand-building and all out ballsyness these guys show. They dare to be different - and this time the daredevil won.
Today, the hand-printed-in-a-cellar apparel is available over the entire world. Take a quick look at their entire collection at Mikstape.com. Cuz they're about to be more popular than they ever dreamed of.
Here is some more of their wide and extensive portfolio. All t-shirts are painstakingly made by hand in Oslo, Norway, by the creator himself (or whoever is around at that moment). Best of luck Nicco!
