Fedora hats, give a look that is classy and as some would sayy "Straight Pimmpen"! These days, almost all clubs and lounges for the grown & sexy don't let you wear hats! But hold up...if it is a  fedora, the big guy in black checkin the dooor may let the fedora be the only exception! I went to a club/bar in the Mission (SF, California) called Bruno's while a buddy and I were both wearing hats, mines a fedora and his a fttted cap. They let me in with no problem and told my friend if his hats was like mine it would be no problem, so he had to take his offf! Because of this, I think all you guys & girls should own a fedora. Let's keep it TRUE in SF

Started in San Francisco in July 1996, True ventured to fill a void: No stores on Haight Street were selling hip hop gear. In those days, hip hop clothing was Wu Wear, Phat Farm, and a bunch of labels that you probably never heard of and aren’t around anymore.

More than 15 years later True is still on Haight Street selling hip hop gear. As the times have changed, so has “hip hop” gear. The lines between hip hop, street, skate, punk are blurring. Currently, the cool guy movement is an example of that blurring. 

True has always been a big believer in not stereotyping people and that carries over into how they merchandise their stores.

For the second consecutive year, Minnesota Twins perennial All-Star Joe Mauer is the cover athlete for MLB 11: The Show, available exclusively for PlayStation 3. To commemorate this achievement, Nike will release the Nike Huarache TR Low “The Show.” Baseball-inspired stitching around the toe emulates that of laces on a ball while the PlayStation logo is prominently displayed on the shoe’s outer tongue. The game’s cover artwork, including the image of Mauer and the MLB The Show classic logo, embellish the inner sock liners of both the left and right shoe respectively. This very limited trainer will be released on April 9 at Nike Mall of America, Eastbay and select Minnesota and Chicago land retailers.

Upscale Wednesdays: Acne

We at Dope Clothes acknowledge that there are more cool clothes out there than screen-printed tees, hot sneakers and fitted hats. Therefore, we want to focus some of our energy on brands from a different genre of clothes.

Acne is one of Sweden's most famous fashion designers. What started out as a friendly gesture to family and colleagues of Acne, then a group of businesses mainly focused on design and marketing, ended up as a world-renowned fashion power house. It now designs hot clothing for both men and women (although I gotta admit - they know what they're doing in the ladies department!), including some real hot sneakers, jeans and cardigans.

Acne is an acronym for "Ambition to Create Novel Expressions". FYI.

Although these guys keep it on the pricey side, you might stumble upon a few nicely used items on sites like eBay and CraigsList. And guys - a good tip for that special occasion, girls will go bananas for a few of these products. Not that we blame them, had somebody given me a pair of those black high-top leather shoes, I'd be pretty excited as well.

As I mentioned earlier, I am a fan of the skaters over at Supreme. Some days ago, they released a line of... let's call them accessories. You gotta give it to them - there aren't all that many clothing brands that have a line of water guns or mini baseball-bats. But there might be a reason for that. Available @ Supreme.

Five GOOD excuses to buy new shoes

Most people enjoy a pair of new shoes - and some a bit more than others. Here are five good reasons for you to shell out a few Jacksons on some new footwear this week:

1. Winter took it's toll
   Those chilly, rainy (or God forbid - snowy) months between each summer is a pain in the ass for sneaker collectors. 9 times out of 10, you can't put your favorite kicks on at all, and the few days you do risk a little stroll with your babies, they get scuffed faster than Holyfields ear in a title match. So repair the damage done by Mr. Winter - buy a new pair of low-tops to celebrate the lack of frozen water up to your knees!
2. The Spring releases are in!
   There is nothing better than wearing the freshest, newest, most exclusive joints out there. If you're like us, you like to stand out in a good way when those first rays of spring sun warms the air for the first time in ages. Make your slower-to-cop friends jealous as hell by sporting some funky new suedes on your next trip to the market - like it ain't no thing for you to look fly as hell!
3. More variety equals less wear and tear
   It's a law of nature - the more pairs of sneakers you got, the longer each pair will last. If you keep a good rotation going, not only will you attract the opposite sex like a magnet, your shoes will last you a lifetime. It's down right economic, is what it is.
4. Treat yourself!
   Spring is one of our favorite times here at Dope Clothes. It's the season for love, warmth and new sneakers. Treat yourself to something nice - like some new shoes perhaps? You've been having a horrible and cold winter, and perhaps hoped for a warm day just like the ones ahead of you now. Besides, you might get a good deal on the outgoing models. 
5. Get in shape!
   The Spring time is perfect for new joggers. Get some dope Nike Air Max's or whatever your flavor of running shoes are, and go out running the streets. Yes, you do have to look good even when you're sweating your ass off trying to look good. With nice sneakers, you'll look great no matter the pace you're running in. It's design.

Check it out! Looks like Swizz Beatz, former Ruff Ryder music producer, is teaming up with Reebok for a basketball-type shoe. No word on the release date, but rumor has it that they are droppin this month! If your feelin these, keep your eyes out! Personally, im not hatin on these.. I thnk they're rockable, but thas just me.. What do ya'll think?

While doing dirt on the interwebs, I stumbled upon this fresh brand. They're called dopeFRESH, and is on the "crazy-colors-smart-wording" trend. Not the most creative in the world, but enough so that a tee or crew neck will make you stand out in a room of stiffs.
